that bougar took my eldest brother 23rd april 2010.i looked after him for 7 month and it stressed me out no end,i started smoking again big mistake copd now.but wat it did to my brother god its a horrible vile disease ,glad my mum isnt around now,would have been upsetting for her,
Carroll, I'm so sorry to hear about your brother - it really is a terrible disease which often isn't diagnosed until it is very developed. The BLF are working hard to raise awareness of the condition and funding a number of research projects to help us understand the disease more, work towards better treatments, and hopefully a cure.
thank u.my brother was 69 a big man,oct of 2010 he had ad a bad cough,wasnt like him.he was always ot ,the cough would not go,he came round corner wer i live ,an came in as usual,he was grey,i give him water told him sit down got ambulance ot,give him oxygen and took him hoz 5 week in and was told mesothelmial.he didnt no wat it was came ome an i looked after him 3month as he was ok to a point,dress feed ok everything,then4th month ulcers came on his legs god.nurse got him a wheelchair ,then it was downhill from there,tanks morphine patches tablets loads of them,i silly started smoking again with stress and no rest now im copd moderate,no more cigs 5month now,nurses were good 2 of them,got him in dc kershaws for 10 day respite,but i new wat for,they really looked after him till 23rd he died,so bldy sad,im 63,that meso god is vile needs wiping ot full stop.
p.s.and tobacco to needs wiping out and all other diseaes and cancers
Definitely Caroll! Both tobacco and asbestos have a terrible impact on your lung health and the BLF are taking action against both to ensure future generations are better aware.

hi thank u for ur reply.im copd moderate and stopped cigs full stop at xmas wen told but had no info given just funny looks,like its ur fault,they dont no really about any of our lives and wat we have had to go threw,i worked in mills at 15 didnt smoke,got bus to work 7am full of smoke ome at 5 full of smoke,ome mum stepdad smoked,shops at that time smokers in.i started at 20 stupid me,never drank never drugs ad 4 children an raised 1 grandaughter from birth as mine,hubby turned into alky an bad smoker and abusive git,left him after 25yr,he wed again an worse now as he wed woman like him not my problem,wen he use go gps for tablets for hiself he got sympathy like ah, i go once now at xmas with copd and i got looks like ur fault get on with it,we had different gps me an ex,my gp ignored my june 2012 xray as ok,it was only wen i took ill at xmas ,and payed for med files 10pound,i saw the result from june it said slight hyperinflation of lungs,i googled it,wen c gp he just said oh sorry but u be ok,i have a new gp now he is ok,thank god.he sent me for heart an blood tests an xray,all was ok,copd no better but no worse thank god,how long can u hold copd moderate for,im 63 i have a exercise bike use it 20 min daily.go for walk every day 1 of my many grandsons walk with me,they dont no wat i have think im exersing in,i take vit d vit c an magnessium an zinc an b 12 daily from holland and barret,thank u .
