Still in work ! But... now down to 3 days (incl shifts & bank holidays in the NHS).

Not to worry though, Mediscreen say they're always there if I need support!

Have had to give up work and take my pension which amounts to 44% of what my take home pay used to be.

can not go into the city due to bad air when the council says it it good

I lose pay everytime I am off work with an infection. I live on my own and am not able to get any financial support from the government even though I am a high tax payer so I have to use my savings. I worry about what I will do when these run out.

I have had bronchiectasis for eight years and used to run my own business. Five years ago I had to give that up and although I am not totally disabled, I have not been well enough to hold down a job since because I keep getting poorly and spending weeks in hospital. (I have small airways disease as well.) No employer would put up with my sick record. I am not old enough to claim the state pension but my husband is still working, even though he is past retirement age.

Paying for cleaning such as house and car and gardening duties all of which I can no longer perform due to my breathlessness.

This year I did not qualify for living allowance, so my partner had to change his job. He is now away from home for 12 hours a day. Trying to get my private pension early but still not heard after trying since the beginning of June. The isolation is driving me mad, starting to talk to the walls.

Had to retire on health grounds (so lucky I save into a private pension scheme - but doesn't compare to my salary. Wife had to give her job up to look after me ......Still got a mortgage to pay and increased fuel bills - Had had to fight for PIP

Had to retire early because of copd & osteoarthritis , need help , so have to pay for any jobs I need doing plus paying out for Taxis as I don't drive.

We have had to buy my husband a mobility scooter because he can't walk far. Apart from having to buy this, we also have to pay to have it serviced/repaired. This means that we have to have a bigger car than we normally would so that it can take the scooter in the back. We also have to pay for jobs which he can no longer cope with himself. So yes, it most definitely had an adverse effect on our finances!!

I would wish that all medications having mark-ups over 1000% must show it. Likewise why do hospital bills submitted to insurance companies seem to be 100 fold higher than what insurance companiea pay?

Yes, in that I spend a lot of money on supplements and self-prescribed pharmaceuticals.

No, in that I can easily afford it. Private and state pension, no mortgage/rent, no kids. For the first time in my life I've got more money coming in than going out :)

Yes ,I find that our house is north facing ,so we don't get the sun ,consequently our house is quite cold ,so our heating has to be on a lot more ,also I can't walk far ,and we live over the canal bridge ,so for me to go anywhere it has to be in the car , as to get over over the bridge ,,,,is virtually impossible for me ,so we have to use the car all the time .which is another big expense ,Also we pay for someone to do the garden for us especialy the hedge ,

Require money to get cabs, pay cleaners, and if possible a little help in the garden! ~Also need to purchase more items from chemist (non-drug related), so yes, it is more expensive!

My husband and myself, late 70s and 80, in poor health were really struggling until we awarded attendance allowance. It has changed our lives as we are now able to pay for care and help.

Yes I was dismissed from my last job coz ofsevere chest infections which required several days off at a time. I can't get another job now because of my dismissal. Most of the work where I am is manuel ie cleaning, caring etc, and I am not fit enough to do them.. I am living on a very small private pension and using my savings to survive. I have to cut down on lots of things like heating and can't afford the healthy food I need. I can't afford to get any help in.

Count myself extremely lucky to live in a country that doesn't charge for prescriptions and treatments. Have a close family who help with garden etc. when needed.

I don't have anyone to help so I struggle on my own & shopping daily is more expensive I can't go anywhere or even take a holiday break cause I can't afford anything that's a privilege I don't get to see even my family

Lucky so far that it has not affected my life plan as I have retired and although it may effect our finances in the future is hard to tell at the moment

I have to pay for help in the garden now and have to pay for weekly taxis to the surgery. Special footwear, indoors and out, because of an ongoing leg condition, unknown diagnosis. Chipopody at home because I was told that I have the wrong kind of arthritis. Memory foam mattress toppers to help with hip pains. I will soon need to pay someone to put my compression hose on as I can only get down so far now, and then help with basic housework. Waiting to run out of money and hope there will be a special 2 for 1 at Dignitas when we have nothing left,
