I was wondering if anyone on here has used kegel 8 and if they notice a difference in symptoms of prolapse? I was thinking of ordering one as I’m still waiting to be seen by a doctor.. thank you!

Thank you! I think I will order one then, if it helps manage it because I worry if I’m doing kegels correctly or not to. I’m in Canada and I’m also thinking if I do need surgery that the wait here will be forever here.. thank you for your advice! I will look into hrt too. Is there a certain type of collagen you take?

Hi Lynniebeg, I am seeing a physio (private too long a wait for NHS). I am having difficulty with pelvic floor exercises. Cannot seem to do them right and they say doing it incorrectly can make the situation worse. So was going to ask my physio if she could advise an aid, like the Kegal 8. Also taking vagifem pessaries, Doctor will fit a bladder pessary still thinking that one. So interested in what replies you get.

I don’t know if I’m doing kegels correctly either- I think I’m going to order the kegel 8 as I haven’t been able to see any dr yet. I should look into pelvic therapy and hrt but I guess I need the dr to prescribe.

I’m interested to hear what your therapist says about the kegel 8 ! Thank you for your advice!

Hi Lynniebg, Went to my physio yesterday and asked about Kegal 8. Apparently my pelvic floor is grade 3 and with the scaring from my hysterectomy she does not recommend it. Suitable for grade 1 maybe 2, she said. Apparently next time she will show me a ‘probe’ which gives something to work against? She has loaned me her tens machine for the tibial nerve. Had a go yesterday so am trying that and will buy my own.

Hi! I ended up ordering one, still figuring out the settings. Did she say if it would make the prolapse worse? I don’t know what stage I’m at but my guess is 3 as well. I’m still waiting to be seen for an ultrasound. I’ve been using poise bladder supports which help during the day, relieve the heaviness a bit. Thank you for sharing your information with me! It’s nice to hear others experiences and what has helped. Xx

Hi, no she didn’t say it would make it worse if you are grade 1. But for me she said the Kegal is quite intense and would not help. My GP has shown me the pessary ring for the bladder which she would put in. I am a bit wary, as I have read it can cause retention, constipation. My physio says you can pull it out easily yourself. Not fully on board with that yet. I have to come off the Solifenacin as it has caused really bad constipation, but works well. I am suffering stomach pains and have to take laxitives. Really fed up with it all.

Sorry to hear about the pain you are having. Hopefully the pessary will help and not make things worse. I take Metamucil daily, it seems to work for me. I’m with you, it’s very frustrating, I wish there was an easy fix. Thanks for sharing about the kegel 8, I think I’m a grade 3 so not sure it will help but gonna give it a shot. Hope you feel better soon. X

Hi Lynn...if you have ebay sometimes they sell kegal 8 on there if not I'm sure that you will be able to buy in Canada or the equivalent...pls up your vits as collegan and vit d are really good for your pf...also if you are menopausal maybe speak to your doctor re hrt...as we age we loose estrogen and hrt replaces it but of course it depends how you feel about that ...my gnie is very pro hrt I'm 63 and I've gone back on it..but like I say some don't agree...Good luck hope you find this helps x

Will let you know what my physio says. I am well past the menopause. Never had any bother then. This has all happened since my hysterectomy when I was 68. The physio is going to show me how the tens for the distal nerve works. For calming of the bladder. Let me know how you get on with the Kegal 8. Good luck.
