Hi sorry I haven't been on here much just not been a good year for me cant seem to catch a break had asthma attack in may and now my heart has decided to join in on the fun 🙄. Had sudden onset of palpitations on Friday last week and this time there completely wiping me out feel lightheaded, weak, chest pain and short of breath right nightmare. I went to GP yesterday and I have an ecg tomorrow and I contacted my specialist nurse and she called me back today and will be issuing an urgent 48 hour heart monitor and if I feel more unwell to call 999 or go A&E so yeah that's been my year how's everyone else.

Hello :-)

So sorry things have not been going so well for you this year I noticed you had not been on much

Same here still struggling different things maybe but still I think the feelings we feel are the same

I am so glad you got to see your Doctor as well as getting a ecg tomorrow and then a 48 heart monitor they are looking after you and there may be nothing wrong but good they are making sure you are ok

Please let us know how you get on :-) x

It's a medical merry go round sometimes isnt it?!

So sorry to hear of all the difficulties, it's so hard when it's constant, one thing after another. I can relate to that. My mum and then our dog both passed away last year, was just settling back into work this year, then caught covid. I've never recovered and still suffering from ongoing symptoms which mean I can barely do anything. I think my preexisting heat problems and HA probably didn't help.

Now it looks like a recent restructure at my work means I'm losing my job, while I'm still on sick leave. And the drs tell me to rest and not get stressed or the symptoms will get worse!!!

I hope you have understanding family and friends who are helpful in supporting you and that you get relief from those palpitations very soon.🌸

Sorry to hear what you’re going through. I hope they can find out what’s going on so your body can settle down. Your Gp is on the ball. It’s a real pain when we become worse having already got an ongoing problem.

All the best and try and take things easy x

I'm sorry to hear you're having such a tough time Yumz, those palpitations are just horrible and really frightening. Good to hear the Dr & nurse are being so proactive, hopefully it'll be nothing more than a tweak of the meds 🤞 take care x

We're not too bad thanks Yumz. Hubby waiting to go back into hospital for a procedure that they want to do reasonably quickly, within the next few weeks. I hope you get on ok with the ECG , hopefully you'll have the heart monitor soon. Obviously it goes without saying to phone 999 if you're feeling poorly.

Keep in touch and let us know how you're doing xx

Thanks hun yeah my asthma is playing up today 💔. My peakflow was 250 and it should be 600. It's a bit better now 350 but still not great x. Hope your hubby procedure goes well xx

Oh Yumz, you need some TLC 🤗 I don't know anything about asthma but that does sound low, maybe something to mention when you have your ECG? Xx

Sorry to hear you’ve not been well, I hope it settles down soon. It’s not nice feeling those things and also the waiting is the worst.

I thought I’d managed to get my heart rate under control, until last weekend I pushed myself too much with exercise and was left feeling faint, dizzy and generally wiped out. Take it easy and listen to your body (easier said than done though I know)

Hope you feel better soon x

Sorry to hear about the palpitations Yumz. Hadn’t heard from you in a while so I was hoping that you were keeping well. Great to hear they are moving fast in arranging for more tests. Let us know how you get on with the results x

Had my ecg yesterday and today got a text saying unfortunately I need it repeated so j looked on my NHS app and the doctor who looked at my ecg said inverted p wave but could be there error if not that's not good might have Afib or need a pace maker x

Well it’s a good thing that it’s being repeated as it shows they’re being thorough. Hopefully it won’t come to that. Try not to worry so much until you’ve had the repeat ECG and the results are back. It’s not uncommon to have small blips and errors on an ECG. I’ve had mine repeated a few times in the past x

Hey hun just wanted to let you know how my second ecg went x showed atrial ectopic beats and prolonged QT interval my very reliable fibricheck.com app picked up a irregular heart rhythm and yesterday my heart rate went to 150 for literally no reason.

Yeah I was told that when you lie down it's rough and especially laying on your left side is the worse but I didn't know standing up had bad effect scary stuff this heart stuff is hope your feeling better today and are you in hospital now?? x

Do you have a HR monitor via a smartwatch? Would be helpful to see how it increases and if it beats at a higher rate or jumps around? Does it come down eventually? Whats your bp when you have these palpitations?

Yumz199725 profile image
Yumz199725 in reply to TasteLessFood4Life

My BP is good, but one of the days it was very low when I felt unwell x

Good that your bp is ok. I remember when I had my anxiety attack - HR was over 100 for couple of hours with BP 160/100. But ECG was all good, holter fine too with the odd extra beat here and there, which many people have anyway.
