Hi. I was diagnosed with a 50% blockage in left carotid artery in February 2023. Currently on Clopidogrel & Atorvastatin. I’ve recently become aware of being able to feel the blocked artery as it’s now much larger and has a much stronger pulse compared to the normal artery on the right side of my neck. Has anyone else experienced this and if so, was anything done about it? My GP said it was an enlarged lymph node when I mentioned it to him - that was without a physical examination. Definitely not a lymph node because of the shape. A few days ago I also had some tingling/pins and needles in my jaw/cheek on the same side. That’s resolved for now, but left carotid artery still bigger etc. Has anyone experienced similar? Would be very glad to hear from anyone! Many thanks.

Hello :-)

I am sorry no one has replied and I do not have the answers either to your post but wanted to let you know I had read it :-)

Maybe you could try posting again and see if someone can relate and answer or you could give the BHF Nurses a ring they are very good and been able to answer are concerns and give advice :-)

Take Care :-) x
