Blood in nose

A few weeks after my heart attack I started to notice blood particles when I blew my nose. Is this normal with all the medication or should I seek advice ?

Don't blow your nose! I take warfarin and regularly get blood spots when I clean my nose without blowing.

Hello :-)

Sorry to hear about your heart attack I hope the rest of your recovery is going well :-)

I suspect you will be on one of the extra strong blood thinners which we usually have to take for a year

When I was on them I used to get really dreadful nose bleeds so much so I had to have my nose cauterised 3 times which did not do anything but as they were really needed the medication I just carried on and when I came of them I have had no problems since

So a little spotting no doubt will be down to the meds , blow gently and I was told to put a little vaseline up my nose

If it really starts to concern you then of course speak to your Doctor but a lot of us have had this problem with the blood thinners as well as you may find you start getting bruisers to which again if you did is nothing to worry about :-) x
