Cardio MRI resulted in a pain clinic appointment

I'm a 39 year old male with family history of heart issues. I had a small heart attack in August and have had abnormal ecgs. I was referred to a cardiologist and sent for an ultrasound. This showed a moderate impairment of the heart. I was then sent for a cardio mri 18th march. Today I received a letter in my mychart app and as a follow up to the mri I have been sent to a pain clinic. Is this normal?

Thanks

I suppose the obvious question is, are you in pain that requires some form of specialist management?

I am under the pain clinic for 7 prolapsed discs. I have dome chest pain on occasions but it is manageable. I just found it odd that the mri follow up stated an appointment had been made at the pain clinic.

It's possible that they think your pain medication needs adjusting.

If you are on blood thinners, you shouldn’t be taking anti inflammatories (NSAID) I imagine. Might be ok with other meds - I’m not sure.
