I have had Afib for many years I cannot take the medication only warfarin, always heart rate lowest 32 highest 189, 5 months ago I had an ablation unfortunately it hasn't worked, the doctor did say I might need more than one, anyway since, my heart rate doesn't drop below 40 but still goes high.My question is, does anyone have the Palpitations and chest pain in 60s to 70s heart rate, this is a new development since the ablation?

Thank you in anticipation.

David

Can't directly answer your specific question but have had no problems with Warfarin over 3 months recovering from valve replacement complicated by blod clotting. Seems to have worked for this. In my case an uninteresting drawback is that accidents become a problem because bleeding is dire. Hope you manage well##Compliments

Hi thanks for your reply I fortunately haven't had a problem with the bleeding whist on warfarin except after my Ablation (which hasn't worked), they take the stich out after 4 hours? 3 days later it was still bleeding! But the warfarin do lower my mood.

Yes, I have had some depression since my failed "procedure" but can't be sure that Warfarin is to blame !

Pub Med seems to think Warfarin is pretty blameless. I was periferally involved in a large trial some years ago and there seemed no striking disadvantages - except that it is intnded to go on for some time. Consultants have muttered "Warfarin for Life" during brief encounters but, since I am 90, this may not be a dire general prediction....
