MorningI had a heart attack 7 weeks ago had echo, angiogram which involved some arteries being inflated with a balloon

Discharged from hospital with standard regime of medication

Thankfully all going well ,lots of walking bike rides .

However not seen a doctor or heard from cardiac rehab

My blood pressure and heart rate all seem good

Is this the standard experience and it very much upto me to get on with my own rehab

Hello,

I had a heart attack in December and was discharged with medication just like yourself. I was contacted within a few weeks by the rehab team. They do online classes/courses for approx 6 weeks and I also attended 2 months of classroom rehab which was built up every week.

So in answer to your question; no you should be contacted. Maybe try contacting your hospital to follow up. I also had follow up calls from a cardiac nurse every 4 weeks until I was discharged from hospital care. Maybe each hospital trust varies slightly but I wouldn’t think it’s that different.

Take it easy at 7 weeks pls. Don’t overdo it and good luck with your recovery :)
