So got into see GP today after Monday nights debacle in A&E, he's referring me to get my hernia sorted, also turns out I've got reflux problems (thought I was having another HA last evening until I felt a gurgle and let out a tremendous belch) so gotta double up on my Omeprazole and just to get my moneys worth I've got a chest infection, happy days π
Ughhhh: So got into see GP today after... - British Heart Fou...
Ughhhh

Oh no. You are having a bad time. Like me at the moment one thing after another. I have just had a nasty flare up of my hiatus hernia. As well as Omeprazole they have advised me to take Gavisgon liquid after every meal and at bedtime. It takes a few weeks for the inflammation to heal. You have probably got the chest infection because you are a bit run down ( was it a lorry or car) lol. ( l got in first this time). Ha Ha. Keep taking the pills and you will be ok. We all need some sunshine Hope you soon feel better.
ππ Cheers ears, I'm sure I'll pick up once I get on the antibiotics π
Yeah get some Gaviscon because it helps to calm the reflux. Mine is worse when l have a lot of stress and you have had a lot and then some. You will feel better when the antibiotics kick in. ( Good match lol chest infection v acid reflux. Kick off in three days) Take it easy and keep giving us those smiles.
Thank you, I thought I had some in a kitchen cabinet but when I looked my gav is gone π
ha ha! You manage to brighten my day despite all the rubbish you are going through. Good on you! Itβs just what we need. I am sending best wishes for your recovery ( apologies that my words are accompanied by my own wind quartet of coughs and belches- looks like I will be back on the esomeprazole even though they make me sick π).
You trying to out-do V in the medical drama stakes? π
Hey!!!!
But yeah I was thinking the same π
I use gaviscon after every meal. I hope you feel better soon.

As I comment on here occasionally I have had diagnosed reflux disease (as well as a grumbling hiatus hernia) for well over 15 years, and having been taking PPIs ever since. And prior to that I had years of related problems. However PPIs are only part of the strategy to get things under control, personal trigger foods which cause relapses need to be identified. And if you do have a relapse, bland food for a week or more to allow your inside to settle down and heal may be needed. Next consuming daily slugs of Gaviscon is not a long term solution in my view although in a relapse may be needed. Finally reflux disease is not to be taken lightly, years of 'indigestion ' where highly acidic stomach acid back washes into the oesophagus can cause cell change resulting in Barrett's Oesophagus which can develop further to Oesophageal Cancer. So Β Andytheextransporter if you need any more PM me
Thank you lowerfield, I've been on Omeprazole for around 20 years but never suffered any discomfort like I did last night, at least now it's on record with my GP, I will also bring it up with my consultant when I see him, once again thanks for your input and will be contacting you π
Same here over 20 years on omeprazole and they were just barely working, then had a stent and was changed to pantoprazole which are not working nearly as well. Be careful using Gaviscon if you take aspirin as the antacid can stop them from working. I take gaviscon when I need to late in the evening after the aspirin is through my system.
Aww hun you can't catch a break ππ₯
Hello
Glad to see you are making sure you are getting your money's worth but wished you had not got to and these things were not going wrong even though I know they can be fixed
I have been suffering with dreadful indigestion to and had my tablets doubled now she wants me to try another one but I am not as relaxed over it like you seem to be x

It is what it is Be Kind
Yeh all is golden sunshine π
good luck getting your hernia sorted. Mine took about 10 months & I was considered "urgent"
Sounds like you got value for money with your appointment. Did they get to the bottom of the reason you wanted an appointment in the first place?. Hope you didn't spray the doctor with the fake blood supplied?
Awww Transporter - that's all you (don't!) need! Hope you feel better really soon - Carol
OMG! Going for the triple sandwich! Really hope each issue improves quickly with meds and hernia remedied asapπ€·π½ββοΈ On the plus side - its not your πππΌ Enjoy a few days rest, your body needs it.
Where ever you be, let your wind go free!! Sorry, I know how you must be feeling, I have a large hiatus hernia which has decided to move into my stomach. Medical people would rather not operate, owing to my age and complexity of operation but if I get too many symptoms, I will have to have operation. Fingers crossed.
Seems like there are some common threads here!
Following an endoscopy on Xmas eve, I was diagnosed with my body producing too much bile following the removal of gallbladder 30 years ago!!!!
After months of βepisodesβ the symptoms are like having a HA, the worst indigestion and horrendous toilet issues and nausea all at the same time. Which lasts for 48 hours.
The remedy is the same PPiβs x 2, Gaviscon Advance ( not the other type) after each meal and before bed, plus a very low fat diet as the fat in my diet increases the bile. Until the inflammation goes down, I can now tell when I eat something with too much fat in it.
The diet is now a bit of a challenge, I was mainly eating a Mediterranean diet, but the fat content ( avocado, nuts, etc) is too much to tolerate.
It is at least 6 months to see the NHS dietitian, so I intend to go private to help me balance Heart needs, pre-diabetic, fat reduction and weight reduction. I am a regular swimmer and gym user but since Xmas I have lost 3 inches off my tummy with reducing the fat.
I have every sympathy with those who have the reflux issue, as others have said at least itβs not the heart β€οΈ.
feel your pain, currently at urgent care, have lung infection and antibiotics causing heart rate all iver, blood pressure all over, shortness of breath usual HA symptoms but it isnβt , itβs the meds, Hope you recover quickly
Good luck ππΌπ
Iβve had the most challenging 4 years with health stuff. Very hard going so hope youβll soon get your hernia etc sorted πππΌ
Sorry to hear about your health issues. Hopefully, the doctors will get it all sorted out soon.
oh dear! Hope youβll soon feel better π
Thank you, so do I lol π
