Hi

I recently was told to increase the Bisprolol to 2.5mg for 1.25mg after my AF went haywire, i have found i keep getting tingling sensation in arms and legs and sometime hands and feet. Maybe a coincidence but never had these before.

Should I drop back to 1.25mg to see if it stops

Regards

Paul

Hello , I noticed you haven’t had any replies yet - everyone must be busy today 🤷🏻‍♀️ I don’t take any of those drugs so can’t help there , just wanted to ask if you were ok and say if you are worried and in the Uk try 111 for advice , take care 😊

Hi, I also take 2.5 bisoprolol and I get tingling in arms and legs and hands. I thought I was the only one and every time I mentioned a side effect to my nurse they deny the meds are causing my symptoms.

Hi thanks for your response. Interesting how health professionals respond. Could be a trapped nerve someone told me.I will see how I get on with the reduction and gi to GP in Jan.

You usually get a information sheet with your meds that along with other information they also mention the side affects the med may cause.Yet if you mention any side effect you may be experiencing to doctor or medical staff they deny there is any. I'm in Australia and doctors here do the same.

G'day to you since my post I dropped back to 1 25 after GP told me to and haven't experienced any tingling. I haven't seen consultant since but just finished a 7vday heart monitor so no doubt he will ring in next few weeks. Regards Paul

Hi HazelThank you for responding very nice of you. I am ok I also have Angina which I have just been given Axiban which I started yesterday.

I had a nose op cancelled for next week as the nurse said they wait 6 weeks after change of meds. So I will carry on reduced Bisprolol for a few weeks and if these sensations go then it must be the tablet. Not sure what heart consultant will say lol.

I find your post interesting and very slightly reassuring, in an odd way. After having my stents fitted I started getting these, arms, hands, legs a little bit, even on the tops of my feet. Since then (3 years plus now) I have had my medication reduced to just 75mg Aspirin and 80mg Atorvastatin, and have also had periods of not taking the statin and swapping to clopedogrel instead of aspirin. The tingling did start to subside and I have periods when it goes completely, and can then suddenly reappears, usually when it is colder. I have not had any real diagnoses but my GP was pretty sure it was not heart related, and I might add I am pretty fit and run regularly to a decent standard for my 63 years. I was beginning to think I was the only one! I have just resigned myself to it, to be honest.

Thanks for your response. I will carry on for next few weeks and see if they disappear as quick as they came.

@l get tingling all over me since l got a.f. The doctors aren't concerned about that at all.

Hi, same here,

I have been on 2.5 mg twice a day (=5 mg) bisoprolol for ten years now, and I also experience a tingling in my fingers. As Terry said, I thought I was the only one.

I thought it might be type 2 diabetes related, so got tested for that with negative results.

Nobody seemed to think the tingling was important.

When I hear that someone wants to alter their own meds, it makes me nervous! I never alter mine without getting the OK from a professional. They have had such trouble juggling my meds, over the years, that now my unstable angina is better controlled and I’m not either feeling rubbish, sleeping all the time or being dizzy, I realise it’s a delicate balancing act, which I don’t understand as well as they do.

It’s also very useful to them to know your reaction, but if v concerned, call GP or 111.
