Home from bypass surgery today !

Well everyone, I’m dressed and ready for my husband to pick me up and take me home after my bypass op

My journey of recovery begins now and when I have there will be no stopping me !

Thanks again for everyone’s kind words and best wishes.

Anything anyone needs to know just ask and if I can help relieve anyone’s anxieties,

I will . 😁

Great news, remember baby steps. Keep doing your breathing exercises ( and coughing) when you get home. You are now on the heart mended road.

Best wishes Pauline

Hopefully not many downs, you sound like your aware of the emotional things we go through. Believe me they do pass.

Hi Birdy23, Hope your recovery goes well, take things slowly, little by little. Take care.

Ruth

Great news that you are home. Take it easy and lots of rest

Keep on top of your pain with your regular medication.

This is not the time to be “brave” ❤️

You need rest and if you’re in pain you won’t get it.

Best wishes

❤️Maisie❤️

Hello :-)

I think you should get an A * how you have dealt with all this and I am so happy that your op is over and you are now on the road to recovery !

Thank you so much for all of us that are still waiting to offer even when you have just been through such a big op to support us in answering any questions or anxieties we may have , that is so kind of you :-)

I look forward to seeing what you get up to when you get to the stage there will be no stopping you :-D x

That’s so nice of you . I think it’s important for others to be supported . The worst part is the unknown and if someone who’s had a similar experience can calm those anxieties in any way , like those who helped me on this forum then it makes such a difference xx

Good morning. Hope you got some sleep. Take your painkillers and walk about when you feel up to it. Do huffing and puffing exercises and every day is a new day x x

Thank you xFirst big challenge at home was finding a comfortable sleeping position in a bed that doesn’t go up and down when and where you want it to !

Ended up still trying out various positions and combinations of pillows until 2am !

Eventually settled on the settee where I could at least use my feet against the arm rest to push myself up 🙄

Morning Birdy23,

I found sleeping with my arms wrapped around my rolled up baby blanket was the way I got comfortable. That blanket went everywhere with me family called it Mums Teddy 😂 still lives rolled up on my bed just a little reminder! The first time I could sleep on my side was sheer bliss😂 have a good first day at home.

Just take it easy.

Best wishes Pauline

Hope you are home safe and well and good luck with the recovery now - slowly does it !!! I am waiting for a date at the moment but understand it will likely be mid September - the waiting is excruciating
