Update on last Post - Sternum Healing!!

Have today had a Letter to say the Surgeon is phoning me next week about this. So happy because it really is giving me some gyp. Just hope he can do something. Thanks again to everyone who answered my earlier Post!! 😊

Hi I be terrible soreness and a lot of pain in Sternum for about 10 weeks after double bypass. Now at12 weeks and it's gone. How long since op. Good luck x

Hi Bishop. I had two Valves replaced last September and the a Dual Pacemaker fitted afterwards. Was in for 6 weeks with a lot of complications. Surgeon told me that!! He's really going to love me isn't he because now I'm giving him more!!

Excellent news...

Now i've started being able to get out and undertake a few steps of walking, i'm finding mine is getting better. Sadly, my wife has also decided i'm now fit to start washing up the dishes again - so don't be so quick to get well 😆

My surgery was last July, but like a fool, i ticked the box that said 'give me some complications' (so spent 4 months in hospital) - then got discharged during lockdown, so was unable to get out and do exercise. Things now getting better, with improved weather and possible lifting of some lockdown measures.

Having read up on the recovery from various surgeries, it seems like the sternum doesn't always like to heal as quick as the heart, post surgery. Hope the surgeon is as helpful as mine has been...

2 Valves replaced and a Dual Pacemaker fitted afterwards. All this because I had Scarlet Fever when I was about 6. That is a long, long time ago I can tell you. There are a lot of Heart problems in my Family though so I really don't know??? Had it in September last year.
