Covid Vaccination Groups

Had to ring GP surgery to arrange medication review so asked which group I was in for Covid vaccine and was told in the over 60s and my heart condition was not a factor so looks like I will be in isolation for another few months. Was hoping I would be in group 6 but apparently not!

Did you not get a letter from the government telling you that your clinically extremely vulnerable and need to shield ? I did , I am over 70 , I’m in group 4 so is my husband ( no underlying health issues ) It looks like being extremely vulnerable doesn’t make any difference .

Tindy. Are you in Scotland. As it does make a difference for me I am 63 and move up one group. Here is the order in Scotland • Residents in a care home for older adults and their carers

• All those 80 years of age and over and frontline health and social care workers

• All those 75 years of age and over

• All those 70 years of age and over and clinically extremely vulnerable individuals

• All those 65 years of age and over.

• All individuals aged 16 years to 64 years with underlying health conditions which put them at higher risk of serious disease and mortality

• All those 60 years of age and over

• All those 55 years of age and over

• All those 50 years of age and over

No I’m not in Scotland. It looks like I would be in the same group if I was. Over 70 with or without being clinically vulnerable are in group 4

Hi magpo. I also rang my doctors asking the same. I was told it’s not them that’s makes the decision it’s the government who sends the letters. Judging by the chaotic situation they are in I am just an ant in the scheme of things. I had my heart attack away from home , it took weeks to get myself recognised by my local hospital , the info just didn’t arrive. Even now I seem to be between 2 hospitals. The one I was referred to by Portsmouth and that I was taken to by ambulance twice after being discharged.

If I hadn’t had my persistent daughter I can’t imagine what the outcome would have been.

I was told on discharge from Portsmouth Hospital that I was now vulnerable .

So I can only surmise if I was supposed to have received a letter telling me to shield it has probably just got lost in the system.

I’m 69 had HA 25th September.

Had a phone consult with GP yesterday in respect of results of an ECG taken back in October, good results except for AF. Asked him about which group I would fall under for vaccine he said he did not know and I just need to wait to be contacted!

Very surprised at that. Where they in hospital or any other condition.
