How to use the forum.

A question, I’m normally ok with tech stuff but this app is confusing me no end.

Where do I find the people I’ve chosen to follow as all I get is those who follow me?

Also is there any way to follow chats as sometimes it’s nice to keep up with how hearties are getting on.

When I do look at a chat there doesn’t seem to be any order to the replies. A reply two hours ago is next to one the day before and then three hours or 19 mins etc.

Ok that’s several questions.....

I click on the bell across top - it shows where you have posted and I think it shows where you have liked

I saw that but that means trailing through every post to find what I’m looking for and if I didn’t post or like as I didn’t have time the conversation is lost forever.

I’ve chosen to ‘follow’ several people but can’t find where they are.

Hi - Click 'Home' then 'Update Profile' then 'View Profile' then you can click on followers or following

Nope! All I get is ‘about me’ or personal information’ . Xx

Have you tried clicking on your 'butterfly' then 'profile' top right hand side of page

Gaz_chops put me straight. The app is a cut down version of the website. Everything you all said to try is on the website. I didn’t realise it was different as when I first joined it suggested downloading the app and it’s all I ever used. Thanks for the help. Xx

The comments are structured, dependant on which comment you reply to, so this will appear after linnielizzie, my next post I will reply to TRST so it will appear under his comment.

So reply to the original comment, or the individual comment accordingly.

If that makes sense!

Ok yes that makes more sense. (Especially as I’ve replied to some comments in this thread). Thank you. One question sorted. Thank you. Xx

Like this.

If you click on your Profile pic & go to your profile, you should see options for people you follow & for people that follow you.

Nope! I get ‘posts’ ‘replies’ or ‘followers’.

If I click followers I only get those following me. Sorry. Xx

If you click on "Save Post" under the 1st post it will save & notify you via email of any updates.

Allegedly, I haven't tried it 😀

I’ve ‘saved posts’ and never found them again. There is no link to saved posts. Xx

"it will save & notify you via email of any updates"

Assuming you haven't disabled email notifications, at least that is how read it to work.

OK i think it is because you are using the app on your phone/tablet, if you have access to a computer, or access HU via a web browser you will see the options we are describing.

Click on 'Members' at the top of the page; enter your name in the search box and it will take you to a page with your name shown; click on your name and you'll be taken to your page where you can check for who you are following and who is following you.

Sorry looked everywhere and I can’t find a ‘members’ button anywhere.

I think my app has glitches. Xx

At least now I know I’m not just losing the plot. No idea how to fix it though. Xx

in reply to Mallowme

Use your web browser instead of the app, you will see the options that we have described.

Oh wow. I’m on the web now and it’s sooo different. The app is a very cut down version.

Thanks Gaz_chops.

Mallowme - ah - are you using a phone or a tablet? I'm using a desktop PC so the screen layout won't be the same - sorry!

Thanks Beith. I’ve realised it’s the app that’s the problem. Thanks. X

I don’t use the app for all the issues you mention. I log on through the browser usually from the daily digest email notifications.

Hi I didn't know there was an app 🙈and I have been on this forum for a while, oh dear! 🙄 I get an email with the posts in the morning and I take it from there, I have just tried to find the app but no joy, is it under the British heart foundation?? Thanks char

I think if you access the emails on your phone and click the links to individual posts it opens similar to an App. I have never purposely downloaded the App either come to think of it. In the three dots on top right of the screen it gives the option of "add to homescreen" which should put an icon on your phone I suspect. I will test it now.

It just saved this this post as a Chrome webpage. The icon is a white H on a green background. I can still scroll to next post below but my starting point will always be this post.

I didn't know there was an app either but I'm more than happy using the web version even on a phone. I rarely use my phone for anything as I can't see it properly or fiddle around moving things about. Use your browser, it's much better.
