Forget the Coffee - Tea and apples are the way to go

A study of 25000 Brits published in Scientific Reports and written up in today's Times (front page) by Rhys Blakely reports that 4-5 cups of tea a day , along with eating apples can reduce blood pressure by up to 4mm of mercury. Interesting reading. Didn't mention afternoon cakes and scones though.

I've been told to cut caffeine, so just one cup of tea a day for me 😒

You can get caffeine free teabags so don't give up, I drink Green, Red Bush or a smoked tea all superb, not sure about the cafeine content of either.

Try decaf tea Gracie. I drink decaf after 1:00 pm. Ringtons decaf (Marks & Spencer sells them under their own name) taste just the same as breakfast tea.

If you haven’t drunk coffee for months and have a cup it feels like you have taken an amphetamine . Well I felt high anyway. Which made me think that it cannot be good for the heart to take so much artificial stimulant . I really miss tea but my post op digestive system won’t allow either so maybe it’s telling me something
