A study of 25000 Brits published in Scientific Reports and written up in today's Times (front page) by Rhys Blakely reports that 4-5 cups of tea a day , along with eating apples can reduce blood pressure by up to 4mm of mercury. Interesting reading. Didn't mention afternoon cakes and scones though.

Try decaf tea Gracie. I drink decaf after 1:00 pm. Ringtons decaf (Marks & Spencer sells them under their own name) taste just the same as breakfast tea.
If you haven’t drunk coffee for months and have a cup it feels like you have taken an amphetamine . Well I felt high anyway. Which made me think that it cannot be good for the heart to take so much artificial stimulant . I really miss tea but my post op digestive system won’t allow either so maybe it’s telling me something
