Hi everyone today I kp experiencing weird like pinch pains dif places of chest if I didn’t have history of previous ha wouldn’t worry but th pains only last few seconds com go I have ph gp about three times since lockdown explaining my bp is low but no one seems to listen but the strange thing is today it’s 112/70 or 120/70 I don’t want to call the er as I am worried but wish I could just get an apt face to face w the gp has anyone in the group wished to see the gp and got a face to face apt thanks

Thanks I do however worry because it’s difficult sometimes to know if pain from other illnesses or the heart and people on the forum help me with their advice which I am grateful for

Thanks Yasyass. I find it very hard too, to work out what’s going on, and how important new symptoms are. This forum has helped me see many things more simply and clearly. And worry less!

The Drs are now convinced I’ve been overmedicated, so lots of worrying symptoms I thought were heart-related have now almost completely gone away (EG breathlessness up slopes and stairs) , now some pills have been reduced.

I hope your new GP works out what’s going on.

Hello Yasyass, I had a stent fitted almost two weeks ago and I too experience weird pinching pains high up in my chest which only last a few seconds. I wasnt sure if it was an after effect of the procedure or not? I also have low blood pressure

You write you usually have low blood pressure but now your readings are coming up higher. Although your higher readings are 'normal' ones for most people, if your blood pressure readings are usually lower, you probably should at least try to report the new, higher readings to your GP.

However, you also write when you've tried talking to your GP about the low blood pressure readings, no-one at the surgery seems too concerned/interested, so you're reluctant to contact them now you're seeing higher readings. (And I completely understand that reluctance, I saw that frequently at the surgery I used to be registered with)

But you really do need good advice about the now higher readings so I'm posting the link to the BHF Heart Helpline contact details (their working hours, phone, email, and an 'instant chat' feature) - you might want to give them a go at advising you as they are all medically trained and everyone reports they are very helpful:

Thank you for your reply today I asked to speak to another gp and explained everything she advised me to do blood tests and a ecg so I booked them for nxt wk I’ll kp posted of how things go

Absolutely no reason why your GP can't see you face to face. I've been to mine 5 times recently. In fact there was a Government announcement he other day saying GPs should go back to face to face appointments because so many people can't cope with telephone.

Yes I too read that and I do kp ask for a face to face but only get the ph call but on the bright side they booked me for blood tests and ecg so Mayb that will help me at least know if something needs urgent treatment or it’s normal thank you for your reply

Our practice said things will never be the same, and phone consultations will be much more common. I like them, but not for anything more complicated.
