4 weeks post op and getting there

Just a wee update to say my initial valve surgery went well, but was a very complex and lengthy full day surgery due to me being a congenital patient. Unfortunately with 24 hrs of open heart surgery I was back in theatre after a bleed. 2nd open heart surgery and multiple blood transfusions, all my other organs took a hit. Was in a bad way but after 3 weeks of amazing care I was finally home last weekend. I can't thank the amazing surgical team and nurses at Golden Jubilee Scotland enough. It is a bit scary but just taking things day by day with great family and friends support. Was so good to get my own bed 🙂

So glad to read your home but sorry you have had problems. Same as you I was in the Jubilee and the care I received was amazing. Remember take your time baby steps listen to your body when it says I am tired rest you will get there. Let your brain catch up with what you’re body as been through. Well to the heart mended road.

Best wishes Pauline

Marvellous news that you are now back home. Onward and upward. It is truly remarkable what they can do with heart surgery these days. Good luck with your progress.

They definitely are the best, I think it's down to the care of the team that I have recovered so quickly I can't thank them enough, I have a biopsy tomorrow and all being well home to my own bed on Friday, I still can't get my head round it, I keep thinking if I pinch myself I will wake up char x

I will have my fingers crossed for tomorrow’s biopsy, the thought of your own bed must be wonderful, I had 7 weeks in my local hospital before my transfer to the Jubilee so it was 8 weeks before I git back in my own bed! I remember being driven up to my home and promptly bust into tears! So how you must be feeling at the thought of going home. You really are an amazing woman.
