Am I classed as vulnerable?

I work in retail and ever since covid I have been worried about not only my health but my families as well hypertrophic cardiomyopathy is what my mother has what I might have as well as my little brother am I classed as vulnerable? I dont want to bring this back to my family as other members of the family have it as well it's on my mother's side but they are allowing more people into the store now then they were before so I was ok before going to work because I didn't see that risk but now they're alone more people in I want to make sure I'm not vulnerable and could potentially bring this back home.

Hi

Anyone has the potential to bring it home unfortunately all you can do is practice good hygiene and do as my Son does .I am Shielded and my Son lives with me we keep away from each other as much as possible clean bathroom after each use contact surfaces cleaned all the time .

And he changes clothes and showers as soon as he comes in .

Speak to your GP if you have concerns

I’m not completely clear from your post. What heart problem do you have, or are you worried you might have what your mother had?

Rose suggests you speak to your GP. Good idea. They should also have a record of your test results, so can tell you If work could be any risk to you.

In this pandemic situation every person going out of the home may come in contact with a COVID carrier and likely to get infected from corona virus. On being infected the person will bring the same home.

Before, I write about how to protect your family, I would like to tell that being a person with comorbid conditions, you are at more risk, god forbid, in case you are infected so you need to be very careful to protect yourself at first place at work and while commuting, some suggestion as under :

1. always wear mask while commuting and in store

2. wear disposable gloves

3. Do not touch anything unless it is required

4. after touching wash your hands frequently, if not in position to wash the hands, do not touch your face or body until you have washed your hands with soap

5. Keep distance with people while talking and commuting

6. Increase your immunity by avoiding junk food, taking healthy diet , practicing Yog, meditation and have a sound sleep for 8 hours

You may take following precautions to prevent your family to get infected :

1. Your family should stay home

2. Before you reach home, call your family to keep door open

3. put off your shoes outside

4. rub your hands with hand sanitizer

5. move directly to washroom which is kept open.

6. take a bath (may be hot water bath) with soap

7. put all your cloths in to hot water with detergent

8. dispose off your mask and glove securely

The chances of infection shall certainly be reduced with above precautions.
