Hi All, new to this forum but after some advice ref post Cardioversion, I’m 49 and had this procedure done this week on Wednesday for first time, heart rhythm is now correct after one zap, I’m feeling a lot of discomfort between my ribs slightly lower than where the pad was applied, this affects any effort to exert myself, had a little walk earlier today and very quickly had to stop after about 50 yards

Hi Jedster1. I am 74 years old and had this procedure on the 6th March. Hospitalized for the next 5 days and left hospital on the 11th. Didn't feel like walking any distance let alone 50 yards especially after a few days but gradually the strength came back and am now doing hourly walks (easily) every day or so. Considering the seriousness of what we have been through I wouldn't worry. Don't try and do too much too soon. Best of luck to you.
Thanks for the response, glad to hear you’re recovering well, I think I’m starting to turn that corner and feeling a little better, I guess I was almost expecting an almost instant fix but realising the bodies muscles have had sharpe contraction between the shock pads causing the pain plus the mix of beta blocker tablets are still trying to slow the heart rate down. I shall start the walks tomorrow. Thanks again, Jed
