Cold and burning feet and hands

Hello

I am in a lot of discomfort and pain from really cold feet and hands and my feet burn as well. My feet are the worse. I do have Heart failure/pulmonary hypertension/permanent AF and tricuspid valve leakage. I take warfarin and beta blockers and know the side effects of warfarin and some beta blockers I take Carvedilol

However this is getting worse. Does anyone else have this and what do they do to help the discomfort

I do have spinal stenosis as well so this does cause me problems like this, my legs are permanently aching and painful

So anyone who has this type of problem and how they cope would be really appreciated

Before my heart attack I suffered from burning hands and feet all the time. The doctor never had an answer to my questions as to why I was suffering from this. I used to stand in a bowl of cool water and rinse my hands under the cold water to ease the discomfort. I used to sleep with a cool pad on my feet.

I haven’t had it since my heart attack so I put it down to my body’s inflammation due to my blocked artery which has since been stented.

Hello shwills. When I was on Bisoprolol, my feet were mostly numb, apart from my toes which were hyper-sensitive! I got my cardiologist to change the Bisop to Carvedilol, which has improved my feet slightly - they are no longer numb, but I still can't touch my toes! As we all have different reactions to our drugs, it might be worth you asking if you can try a different Beta-Blocker.

Yes it could be the Carvedilol

I don’t have an appt with consultants until August so nothing will be changed at mo

However my heart failure nurse knows so she may be able to do something

The HF nurse will be in regular contact with the consultant, so might be able to change it sooner if you ask. I know all these drugs are helping our hearts, but that's not much good if they lower our quality of life.

Good luck xx
