and not take aspirin until the evening?

I’m at the understanding they are supposed to be taken together in the morning which I haven’t currently been doing, as I had already planned out my times to take them etc before hand.

I hope this is okay to do.

Lansoprazole works best if you take it 30 minutes before breakfast. Then take the aspirin with your breakfast or straight afterwards.

I don’t know how to change it without causing problems as I’m currently taking it alongside my Ramipril in the evening with food.

75mg Aspirin is a low dose. Typical tablets for fever and headache are 300 mg so taking it in the evening and next morning is no real issue.

Okay that’s good to hear.

To be honest though?

The reason I started taking it in the evening is because my nurse who was handling my drugs wrote “evening” on the box (likely in accordance with my lifestyle) and I also read that it supposedly will work better when taken in the evening.

Most statins are taken in the evening and occasionally BP meds are taken in the evening rather than the morning.

I take my statin and ticagrelor together at midnight (usually around my bedtime) which is anywhere from there to 2am.

I’m not one to have ever went to bed before midnight.

Most people take Ticagrelor in the morning. I think it best you ave a chat with your GP 're timings.

I take mine twice a day at 12noon and midnight (12hrs apart).

I would suggest you review your timings with your GP. Something easily done on the phone...

Lansoprazole is to protect the stomach from being irritated by other drugs, aspirin in particular. So it should be taken between 30 minutes and one hour before aspirin.

I’ve been taking it at 9:30am but then I’ve also been taking my aspirin and 6:15pm so I hope that won’t cause me any issues. I might switch it up.

Because I wanted to stop lansoprazole I discussed with my GP but he won’t let me. He has allowed me to take it down to 15mg. I’m prescribed it to protect the stomach from the aspirin which is needed for life. So, lansoprazole before food and aspirin after, as it’s meant to be taken by me. Maybe your meds are meant to do the same? I wanted to stop taking it because of it’s nasty side effect of reducing the nutrients the body absorbs in the digestive system. My GP says this is an effect the NHS does not allow for although he clearly knew of it.

My husband has his on bedside table and takes it, Lansoprozole first thing in the morning, note you can’t take gaviston or any indigesgestion for at least 2 hours before or after taking it.He takes his aspirin AFTER his breakfast. Hope this helps. Keep well Ursula x

I'm still on the very rare stocks of ranitidine because I'm allergic to PPIs but I take my aspirin at lunch with a decent meal and was told to take the ranitidine at bedtime

I have always taken Lansoprozole 30-60mins before eating or taking any other Medication. They are meant to line your stomach.

Hope this helps you.
