So late 2017/2018 after getting sepsis with for want of a better phrase destroyed my heart which in turn i had to have The mitral valve, tricuspid valve, aortic vale replacment this all had to be done 3 times because of complications to tell you it wasn't an easy time to say the least. But back to the subject i haven't recieved a letter from the goverment saying i'm considered vulnerable why i don't have any idea and i have friends and family that have previous and exsisting condictions that have had letters . I to be honest would rather not have a letter but was wondering if i have been over looked.

We only got Govt text message today. The criteria are quite tight.

In all honesty I'm 95% sure that i fall into the extremely vulnerable group and have been self isolating since march 18th. But i thought tahat my past medical history would mean i would have received the letter

I'm sure that there will be people who have slipped through the net.

I'd try and register on the NHS site, if it lets you register the instruction is to then contact your GP.

If it won't let you register I'd be inclined to contact GP

If you are in the extremely vulnerable group you can register on gov.uk to get support click gov.uk/coronavirus-extremel...

They may feel you have been "fixed" that's why your not on the list !! Speak to your GP practice or Consultant if you still have one.

Assuming that your surgeons did a good job on your heart , you will probably be right for another 30 years and could be considered well fixed. Are you sue you really want a letter?

Hi Boris1978, firstly I’m very sorry to hear this happened to you.

I too had sepsis in August 2017 which left me with severe regurgitation and the need for open heart surgery and a mechanical aortic valve replacement. So I Have some sort of understanding of what you’ve been though and like me, you’re lucky to still be here. I’ve found recovery takes a long time with lots of ups and downs.

I’m sorry I can’t answer your question as I came across it as I was looking for answers myself. I haven’t received a shielding letter either, although a few people tell me I should have. What I can’t find information on is what they class as ‘severe’ single organ disease. My GP surgery has been unhelpful. What makes me think I should have a shielding letter is the fact I received an email from Asda to tell me that the government had informed them I was shielding so they offered me a delivery slot!

Have you heard any more since your post or found out any information? I’m worried as here in Wales we are now shielding until 16th August but I am due back to work in two weeks.

Thanks very much and I hope you feel well.
