Things progressed quickly this morning, having came in to get my loop downloaded following a nocturnal faint, it has shown up slowing rhythm to around 30 before a 15 second pause. Now I'm sat waiting for a bed not allowed to go home! A pacemaker is going to be the likely treatment.
How have folks faired with the procedure, recovery and life post implant?
Am pleased in a way as at least its not just in my mind!

Exactly the same happened to me 8 years ago.I knew something was very wrong so just relieved when I was finally diagnosed correctly.The implant is a simple procedure but done by local anaesthetic so ask for a sedative if you`re nervous.Went home next day and immediately noticed a vast improvement in my fitness.Take the advice you`re given then gradually build up to regain your former fitness.I love my pacemaker,so will you.Best wishes.
Wow, that sounds fantastic! Don't dare to think about how good it can be as its been a while since feeling normal.
Not sure whether you have already had your surgery yet but if they ask whether or not you want them to take the loop recorder out (I had a choice) leave it there. I had my loop in for over a year prior to having my pm fitted and opted to have it removed but it took a bit of ‘digging’ to get it out, which made the area incredibly sore and I had a pneumothorax type pain for almost a month after the procedure which wasn’t pleasant. However the pm fitting was a breeze.
