post thoracic aneurysm and aortic valve repair

I had surgery a week ago for a thoracic aneurysm and an aortic valve repair . I am experiencing unpleasant symptoms including thumping of the heart and pulsations in the arm , back and shoulder. Any tips on how to deal with this ?

Hey @penrose, did the hospital not mention after care? I suppose once the valve has been repaired it’ll function properly. If a little bit fast now? Maybe a beta blocker for a while?

Thanks for the quick reply. The after care from the hospital was non existent but am on beta blockers

Hmm, no worries.

Maybe call the hospital back & ask them for advice?

I must admit to being quite proactive with the hospitals I’ve been through this year. I’ve got an email address for my heart failure nurse so I bounce things of him. I think I failed my medical degree in this life but a simple analysis of what’s presented to me serves me well. So does asking why.
