Hi

Thankfully to you all for posting helpful information's about human health

My father after a heart attack was put a stent and was given a therapy but in the therapy as a clopidogrel they told to take aspirin 100mg but after few days he had a nose bleeding and to stop that he had to take 5 days tampons..he is afraid that can be repeated..

Some told that he should change that aspirin to plavix..

But we don't know what to do..

Please can anyone tell us what would be the best solution

Thank you so much

Hi, I don’t think anyone here can give you that advice, you will really need to contact his GP or cardiologist for advice as blood thinners are so important after stents. Hope you can get an answer quickly 🙂

Yeah you re so right but here when you ask doctors they look like doesn't take the responsibility and don't care so much..

I know what you mean, so many of them don’t seem to care, or maybe too busy to care I don’t know. Can you e mail the cardiologists secretary ? Surely they can’t ignore you 😔

I complained about the last pompous idiot I saw on the Hospital’s website. I now have an appointment with a Dr I respect and trust. Any trusts / hospitals hate bad publicity especially heart hospitals who get additional funding.

I’m sick and tired of being treated like I’m an amboeba by cardiologists.

Know how you feel, I’ve seen 3 different ones who all made mistakes just reading my results which I noticed! 😳😳. I’ve now found one I totally trust and who I can even message online! The only downside is he is miles away. But I’m happy

I think unfortunately the NHS & it’s Patient’s have been held hostage by Consultant’s. Right at it’s birth Bevan stated that ‘ He had to stuff there mouths with Gold’.

Disclaimer- I know this doesn’t apply to all Consultants 🤗

Very true, I have dystonia and see a professor at a London hospital, he’s the nicest man with all the time in the world for me. He was horrified I’d been left so long with no treatment, so definitely not all bad.

Go back to the doctor/hospital - no one on here is qualified to advise you. Someone has already given you very bad advice: Plavix is a different trade name for Clopidogrel - they are the same drug just marketed under a different name in different countries (in USA it is called Plavix).

Plavix (clopidogrel bisulfate) is an anti-platelet drug used to prevent blood clots. Plavix is used to reduce the risk of heart attacks and strokes, particularly in people with a recent history of stroke or heart attack, and those with peripheral vascular disease.

He should go back to his doctor for advice. Plavix and aspirin daily is the standard treatment after stents. Usually prescribed for one year. He needs to discuss the nose bleeds with the doctor who prescribed his tablets. You must take the advice of someone who has trained for seven years plus = not from someone who may have had a similar event. Everyone is different and no one here can tell you what to do. Get professional advice.
