5 months post quadruple bypass on standard meds- clopidogrel, ramipril, bisoprolol, statin and aspirin. Off on a cruise- never been a heavy drinker but would like to have a few relaxing cocktails while away. Anyone got experience of if drinking is wise on the meds?

The majority of people are OK if they follow the NHS guidelines. However, I would advise everyone to discuss their individual case with their GP/cardiolgist. Mine had no problems providing I follow the guidelines. Going over this can affect blood pressure and over thin the blood causing bleeds. I believe particular care is required with Warfarin.

Depends on where you are going. If it is round the med you are never more than a day away from help. Urgent helicopter evacuations are obtainable relatively easily if your insurance cover is up to it. If you are going further afield you may want to have a chat with your insurers.

Having said that try some of the 'mocktails' they have on board, some are really tasty and enjoyable and you can mix and match with the full strength cocktails. I went from Southampton to New Zealand and the most stressful part of the trip was the long haul flight back .
