I picked this up from twitter today. Several familiar medications on this list.

An interesting read! I am having a new prescription made up and know my pharmacist is experiencing some problems. The odd one is not unusual but he says it had become worse. Whilst it could be Brexit many online pharmacies are bulk buying. These seem in conflict with NHS advice to see your pharmacist for minor issues.

I am on three medications on that list. Whilst one I have a month's supply the other two are at 7 and 8 days respectively! I used to have a perscription's backup but since changes in medication and tighter prescribing have not been able to do so. My other concern is over insulin supplies as from experience not all insulins are equal.

If there are shortages it will mean we have been lied to comprehensively. It will also stretch the NHS as people will need to be found alternatives and many have spent months/years getting the right combination!

Apologies someone asked me about this in the middle of one of the lo_n__g threads yesterday. I was unable to respond at the time but unable to find it afterwards. If you read this I trust it partially answers your query.

Potentially a concern! Some quite heavily prescribed drugs on this list, like dispersible aspirin and metformin.

4 of my medicines are on the list!!

I am picking up my perscription on Friday morning and will post back if anything is owing but two could then become serious. Rees-Mogg's attack on the consultant who expressed concern did not make me feel confident. One alternative was tried some years ago as it was cheaper and I got palpitations, and this was pre CVD/bypass! ☹️

I got my 28 day supply last week, so it will be a few weeks before I get a repeat

I work in another public service and the secrecy and gagging orders have a bit of the communist flavour to them. 🤨🤨🤨

I picked up a couple of prescriptions from my local small pharmacy today. The pharmacist said they frequently have shortages on medications, usually related to manufacturing issues and hadnt noticed anything unusual in current supplies.

He did mention that the Scottish Government has a massive warehouse with stockpiled meds in case of Brexit shortages, so there has been some planning North of the Border.

The pharmacist is insulin diabetic and said he was a bit concerned about personal supplies but Novo, the UK biggest insulin supplier is apparently stockpiling 4 months supply in case of No-deal.

Interesting about Scotland - where I live and am on Bisoprolol. When I dropped off my refill request last week the chemist said she's not worried about supply. I'm going in this afternoon to pick up and plan to ask again in case she has more information and is willing to share it - perhaps the reason for her lack of worry is owing to the Scottish government stockpile?

The filling of prescriptions has become Big Business everyone seems to be competing to have your repeat Prescription sent direct to a Pharmacy so they have and retain your business. You can even do it by Internet Chemists !!!

I wonder what a Chemist gets from the NHS for filling a prescription ?? and could this be a reason for Chemists Stockpiling .

Well with what came out of the Operation Yellowhammer documents the answer seems to be Yes. With food shortages and higher food prices predicted it is staggering any government would consider inflicting this on its people in peacetime! Obviously this should only apply in the event of a hard Brexit!

I recently renewed my paediatric first aid certificate and the paramedic trainer said that there were only two drugs for which there might be a shortage. He didn’t tell us which ones they were but he was very reassuring about the situation!
