There are issues with a number of drugs among them BP medication. Both of yours fall into that category. Might be worth a chat with your pharmacist about alternatives.

I was told by the heart failure nurse not to take Ibuprofen and have stuck to her advice. A report on BHF website says it can cause kidneys to retain more salt and water in the body, which can increase your risk of heart failure.

Thanks for the info.I already have heart failure so I`d better give Ibu a miss.

Not to sure... but I saw a neurologist the other week ( for headaches) and said to him I was worried about taking anything other than paracetamol because of the meds I’m on ( Ivabradine & bisoprolol) and he said that it’s fine to take ibuprofen so I have been 🤷‍♀️ you could always double check at a pharmacy as I’m not on candesartan X

Ibuprofen is a non-steroidal anti inflammatory drug that can adversely interact with anti platelet treatment (aspirin/Ticagrelor/Clopidogrel etc). I’ve just had a look at side effects and it can increase heart failure and at higher doses heart attack!! But having said that most of our drugs can have horrible side effects. Probably wise to steer clear as you have HF. I avoid because I’m on Aspirin due to having a HA.

I have been told ibuprofen is a definite no no as I take Warfarin amongst other things. Ibuprofen can cause all sorts of problems.

However, nothing in my life is that simple, I can’t take paracetamol, it makes me very poorly. So I do take the odd ibuprofen and to date haven’t had any issues, but do remember this is a personal choice.

I would speak to the pharmacist they are the ones with the best knowledge of drugs and interactions.
