I am not sure if this is the cause of my palpitations or not but not long after i took Zantac for the first time, i started experiencing awful palpitations. I have felt some palpitations/flutter feelings in the past but only one or two then they would stop. These were constant, multiple per minute. I have never in my life had that many palpitations at once
Has anyone ever experienced this after taking Zantac or a similar medication?

Palpitations are not a listed side effect of ranitidine, but the information does state that you should stop taking it immediately if you experience slow or fast heart rate. So, my advice is to not take it again and go see your pharmacist (or GP) to get something else to do the job that you had purchased the Zantac for.
Thank you. I will definitely not be taking it again, it was awful. Within an hour of taking it i started having palpitations that gradually got worse. I have had little flutters here and there but nothing as consistent as what i was feeling. I also read that if you are allergic to ranitidine you can experience irregular heartbeats. So perhaps i am allergic or my body just did not tolerate the medicine
