I have muscle ache in upper arms but I don;t know which one of the daily drugs I take causes it.

in reply to Calliope153

Me too. I've gone past thinking about all the aches and pains I get etc. side-effects from different tablets, getting older etc. etc. What will be, will be I suppose!

Just found this post I know it's old but can you tell me if you get arm aches when walking on incline. Thanks

in reply to Fifimyangel

When I was diagnosed with angina the specialist laughed when I told him my symptoms were brought on when I was walking up an incline and chatting to the Mrs..... absolutely classic pointers to him that I was suffering from angina.

Hello Molly. I have developed upper arm ache in the last year but have not taken any new pills although bisoprolol was put up in dosage. No chest pain though. Do your arms feel really heavy in the mornings? My doctor said it is through sitting too much and not using the arms regularly which 'sets' the rotar cuff muscles in the shoulders. Anyone else get this???

Yes heavy in morning and sometimes pins and needles in hand but not all the time like the arm ache. Also I sleep so much since in the bisoprolol, constantly tired.

Hi Molly could it be your statin? Apparently women are more prone to muscular pain with statins. Mine is arm and foot pain. Arms was more alarming as that was hurting when I had my HA. Am going to speak to the cardiac nurse this week to see what she recommends. Good luck x

The main tiredness wore off for me after a month but it still makes me sleepy, especially at night.

Mine is getting worse. It's been 5 months on a beta blocker.

I was permanently beyond exhaustion on Bisoporol - on 7.5 I hallucinated. It was gradually decreased by my GP (he didn't want to decrease it but eventually went along with it) and I now take 1.25 daily and the grinding tiredness has gone. It took about 8 months to get down to the lower dose.

still have aching arms though

Do they ever suggest half a tablet? Half a 1.25?

Iv been told my stents procedures good

But can't convince myself

I had 2 nice walks 10 minutes each 2nd week after home

If I get symptoms now I think maybe I damage heart.

Nerves want to yawn for deeper breath if I don't no difference had this years

Anxiety

How can I think differently thanks

You;ve obviously never tried to half one of those tiny tablets..... When GP moved me from 2.5 to 1.25 I offered to halve the rest of the tablets I had - he categorically told me not to even try and gave me a prescription for 1.25 tablets. The cardiologist told me 1.25 was extremely low. There isn't a lower tablet made according to the website that lists all the medications and strengths.

Thanks for that info. Thinking about it now I can see how hard that would be. Don't really understand why it is knocking me out so much if it's the lowest dose. Oh well, another unknown ...

I got so desperate on the bigger doses I went into the GP and told him I was about to throw all my tablets down the toilet as my quality of life was being so badly affected i was losing the will to carry on. Luckily the lower dose has been better but I do have arm ache but can live with that. I also have other tablets so maybe it is the combination that gives me muscle pain. I too have the occasional chest twinge and can;t work out what causes that.

Thank you. It has made my blood pressure lower than normal as well. I take perindopril ace inhibitor and atorvastatin station so perhaps it has exacerbated the symptoms of one of these tablets.

meant to say I had a heart attack so need the beta blocker and all the rest to reduce risk of another one.

Good to have a reason for taking the meds. I was put on them for tachycardia when suffered rebound when HP stopped propanalol, then cardiologist put me on bisoprolol to stop the palpitations caused by the rebound.

GP not HP

You can buy a tablet cutter from the chemists for a couple of pounds. Works really well 👍
