Stenting a new graft

Hi guys

Not a very good day result wise for me . Still in hospital after angina pains on Monday 10 dsys post bypass . Angiogram today reavealed 1 of the 2 new grafts has blocked 😭😭

I am being transferd to another hospital tomorow (dont stent here)

To see if a stent can be fitted, Any one else have this happen to them ?

A little broken hearted today.

Sending you a big virtual hug: sounds like you are in good hands as they are going to transfer you to somewhere with the necessary facilities and equipment. Try to get some sleep and don;t let the understandable fear take over. There was a post on here about someone having a stent put inside a blocked stent and that worked out. It;s a setback but they wouldn;t suggest it if it wasn;t possible - are you going to the hospital in Southampton close to the one you are in?

Not back to southampton this time but worthing which is closer .

I was gob smacked. I thought another blockage somewhere else not one of my new grafts 😱

Sorry to hear your news. Did they day if the graft had collapsed or been blocked by a piece of plaque - I don't think restenosis can occur that quickly. Hope everything goes smoothly tomorrow.

Hi Jelliebean

I had a bypass last July and continued with angina until February when I had another angiogram and found it had failed. Personally I don’t think it ever worked. They managed to put 2 stents in unfortunately my angina does continue but I think this is due to my right Coronary artery that remains a problem. I fully understand how you are feeling so disappointing and upsetting after such major surgery. Probably you don’t feel this way at the moment but I took the view eventually that I can’t change it so I need to look forward to what can be done. I really wish you well and keep in touch.

Its sooo frustrating billyjean the emotions and anger that went through me is just not like me at all . You found you way through it as im sure i will . Well we have no choice.

Maybe i read too many life changing stories and wasnt prepared for any dissapointments

I don't mean to sound selfish i just wanted to be a sucsess story too

I don’t underestimate the major impact this has had on my mental and physical health but as you say no choice but to get on with life. My cardiologist said that mine would last until I’m 90 so wrong to raise hopes to that extent. I hope that they get you sorted soon.

Good luck, hope it’s sorted out. I can understand how you feel although my problem was a bit different following my CABG in April last year. I collapsed last year 10 days after discharged & was rushed to my local hospital where a very severe electrolyte imbalance was diagnosed which nearly killed me. It took two weeks in Critical Care to sort it out. You do think “why me”, but I got over it & am still here to tell the tale.
