I take Levothyroxine Sodium, Lansoprazole, Felodipine, Clopidogrel and Atorvastatin... Had Stent fitted in 2016... My question is can I eat Lamb Hotpot with Braised Red Cabbage? I know there are certain things I cannot eat and not sure about this.... Thanks

Read the leaflets that come with your drugs. They should tell you what you can or can't have. If you are still in doubt, discuss it with your Pharmacist.

It's not about just one meal being bad for you; it's your diet in general. One supposedly bad meal in a few months won't cause any harm but eaten regularly would. The only thing I know for certain that you should't eat with your tablets is grapefruit. The leaflet in your statin should make that clear. I don't know about your thyroid problem but for heart it means eating very little red meat, cut right down on bad fats; use olive oil for cooking; don't fry food; cut right down on salt and eat lots of fruit and veg. The BHF website has a section on diet with lots of great recipes.

Hi Qualipop... The reason I asked was I am at my Grand-daughters wedding in July and out of all the main meals this was the only one I could choose, I do not drink but they do add red wine and garlic to the Lamb Hotpot with braised red cabbage, and was a little concerned as I closely monitor what I eat on a daily basis :-)

Hi Twinkle. As a one-off it won't do you any harm at all. Enjoy the wedding and eat, don't drink, and be merry! :)

thank you Alison_L much appreciated

As Alison says, as a one off it won't harm and you don't have to eat all of it.

You might want to question why you are still on clopidogrel as normally 18 months or 2 years and you can give it up, no longer required unless you have problems with rejection of stents. It would be worth speaking to your GP seems strange to be still on it after 3 years
