Allergies?

Following on from a previous post, I'm curious!

Before my OH surgery, there were various foods that I couldn't eat, processed beef, shellfish, pork and after having an angiogram discovered I was allergic to the contrast dye.

But since surgery all these issues and have resolved, I have always just assumed it was to do with having a blood transfusion, but, I can't really see why?

I just assumed that because things do have a 'memory' that the new blood ( think in total I had about 4 pints), kind of rewrote my memory! I'm sure that sounds like complete madness, but has anyone else had anything similar?

I'm fairly sure it's not something I've grown out of, as I had had these issues for more years than I care to remember, but, in my opinion not only did OH surgery give me a new heart valve it also opened up a whole world of foods to me (without repercussion 😊)

Hi, I've got stage 5 kidney failure and am in contact with several people who have had kidney transplants. Some people seem to experience changes in taste (one was a coffee hater but couldn't get enough of it when she had her transplant) or changes in personality where they felt their personality had changed considerably. So perhaps the theory of tissue memory has something in it.
