I am a 64 yr old male and I too had a heart attack due to internal blood leaks. I had no treatment whatsoever for my heart as the priority was finding the leaks...I received 3 pints of blood every 2 weeks for 3 months. After the blood I felt absolutely normal but went steadily downhill over the two weeks. Eventually the leaks were found by a camera and fixed via endoscopy.

Then the heart problems ,leaking mitral valve and a triple bypass needed were sorted. That was a year ago and I am still struggling to get back to where I was before all this . However my point is that on receiving the blood I felt fine and had no idea of the severity of the heart problems. I think it depends on the severity of the heart attack , I carried on working for 2 weeks after the attack with what I thought was a chest infection until the paramedics told me I had had an attack previously
