I have been advised that it would be extremely beneficial to have the above injections on a regular basis to help control perfuse cardiovascular heart disease however I am told I cannot have them as there is no funding ????

Having worked all my life and paying my share dues into the NHS is this fair??

Does anyone out there know where I can get this treatment ? I am of course willing to travel anywhere to get it

Any help appreciated

Hi

I suppose it depends on the recommendation if it is from GP or Cardiologist there must be a route in via the existing system NICE guidelines are carried in this article.

I wouldn’t claim to have any real knowledge but have read this before and it seems to have encouraging results

Who recommended it and who said funding is not available. Sometimes there are disjoints in the NHS system. One person I know can only get their recommended arthritis drug from the hospital consultant!

There are certain criteria’s for this related to your cholesterol levels and history of statin use. I was referred to Lipid clinic and had a discussion re injections or clinical trial. I had further blood tests and have another appointment in 2 weeks to see what one is best suited. I am intolerant to statins.
