Hi I was prescribed Ticagrelor after my Stents earlier this year I was already on Aspirin. They prescribed Omeprazole at the same time but did not explain why. When I asked my Dr why she said the Omeprazole was likely prescribed to protect the stomach from the 2 antiplatelet meds ...

Similar here I was prescribed lansoprazole otherwise similar meds - I think ramipril has had a bit of an impact with me although GP says not 😕 I take lansoprazole first thing in the morning prior to breakfast and other meds follow on

I am also on a shed load of meds which includes Omeprazole. I initially went on it after being diagnosed with damage to my stomach lining probably caused by taking ibuprofen on an empty stomach (my back is worse at night so was taking them then), but my cardiologist said it was also good to protect from the other drugs I’m on.

Lanzoprazole for me. It’s usually taken because of the aspirin and the potential for gastric bleeding rather than Ramipril (which I’ve not read as causing gastric issues)

Yes I take 30mg of lansoprazole and I don't seem to suffer with stomach aches

I was prescribed Lanzoprazole and have to take it first thing in the morning 30 to 60 minutes before food and was told it was to protect my stomach from the Aspirin which I take straight after eating breakfast and it works

I take Omeprazole first thing, and Lisinopril and Bisoprolol shortly after. Aspirin and Vitamin C (absorbic acid) follow breakfast. Atorvastatin was increased and moved to the evening post bypass.

My doctor stopped atorvastin. I’m ok. Statins can be worrying to your body.

I was on very similar meds to you, I was taking lansoprazole but have just changed to Ranitidine, going back to check with my Dr Monday if that is the right replacement.

I take Lansoprazole and have done so for several years following a small but alarming duodenal bleed.

I was on the exact same tablets ( some now changed) and was told to take Ranitidine every day as I'm allergic to PPIs. It's been 3 months now and I'm just starting to get bad stomach pain. Ranitidine isn't as strong as things like Omerazole so I guesshe g done needs increasing. Not sure what happens when the Copidogrel finishes but I have to continue on Aspirin for life because that can also cause bleeding.

Hi, I’m taking a similar combination to you and I was on omeprazole originally but opted to change to ranitidine as I’d seen that there is a “possible” link to dementia with omeprazole and I wanted to switch to an alternative without this potential downside so opted for ranitidine after a discussion with my GP. Hope this helps. Wishing you well.

I was diagnosed with Barretts Oesophagus a lot of years ago and prescribed Rabeprazole. Had to attend every 3 months for an Endoscope and after 5 years or so was declared clear but to be on the safe side keep taking the tablets - which I still do now. Doesn't seem to cause any problems with the rest of my medication.

I was on omeprazole, but didn't do anything for me. Tryed liquid Gaviscon and settled stomach nicely. I'm on Ramipril & Bisoporol.
