Timing of clopidogrel

Is it necessary to take clopidogrel at a specific time? Mine which I just started a week ago says morning but is that essential? I'm getting side effects like breathlessness and thumping heart that wear off. If I took it in the late evening I'd be ok during the day. I was changed from ticagrelor which was even worse for side effects which doesn't leave much alternative.

Hello Qualipop - I checked out patient.info which my GP has recommended in the past. It states clopidigrel can be taken at any time of the day but that it's important to take it at the same time each day. When I have changed the time of day I have taken a drug I stage the delay. I mean perhaps take it an hour or so later than normal each day until you get to the evening. It's important not to double dose or allow too long a gap with an anti platelet drug.

I take mine in the evening because I had indigestion if I took it in the morning.

I had the same problem tried both both gave me bad side effects its best to take them at night before bed then you dont feel the impact so much. I had a chat with the surgeon and he put me on Prasugrel also known as Efient 10mg feel great on these my doctor put me on gsatro resistant Aspirin it desolves in you bowl not in your stomach so you still get gut pain but not as bad.

I thought Prasugrel had a much higher risk of bleeding- I may be completely wrong. Anyway thankfully they seem to be settling down now. I started on Candesartan on Thursday after bisopralol gave me hallucinations and for about 4 days I was light headed, my heart was thumping really hard and I was breathless but by yesterday it was wearing off and i Now have no problems with it. I've so far had to have 4 tablets changed and one stopped and am finally starting to feel a bit more normal but it's taken over 2 months

Did you change Cloppy Dog Rel for Candesartan ?? I take 10mg Bisoprolol along with 32mg Candesartan ?? oh and Cloopy is Morning and Candesartan at Bedtime ???

NO. My cardiologist swapped Ticagrelor to Clopidogrel because of chest pain and breathlessness on TIcagrelor. Clopidogrel is to prevent your blood from getting sticky and clogging up stents. Candesartan is a BP medication. Two totally different things. Bisopralol is a platelet therapy; Bisopralol is a beta blocker to regulate heart rate and BP. My GP stopped Ramipril because along with the bisopralol, it was dropping my BP too low and I was too washed out to move. I then started having hallucinations when she moved bisopralol to night time so she stopped that too without noticing that my BP meds had also been stopped. I had to remind her so then she prescribed Candesartan. It doesn't regulate my heart rate the way bisopralol did but my BP Is now stable.
