I hope the nightmare is now over

As well as the heart attack in AUgust and two further blockages for which I had a pressure angiogram last Friday, I also have very severe abdominal adhesions which cause excruciating spinal pain. (Bladder and bowel are glued to spinal ligaments). Any kind of bloating or constipation rips on my spine. I've taken oxynorm for 18 yrs for that. I also have fibromyalgia which predisposes people to have bad reactions to a lot of drugs. Since the heart attack I've had problems with atorvastatin, ramipril, ticagrelor and now it seems bisopralol. My GPs ( different one every time I speak to them) have shuffled things around, stopped things but basically refused to change anything for weeks until they've had the go ahead in writing ( Snail mail) by the heart consultant.Chest pain and breathlessness from ticagrelor ended with a trip to A&E with suspected second heart attack. Thank goodness not. After moving the bisopralol to bedtime I started walking in unbearable pain and seeing black shapes everywhere. . This resulted this Tuesday in being admitted to hospital for 3 days for an emergency MRI scan for suspected cauda equina. What a nightmare. The only bed in the entire hospital was on a surgical ward, so understaffed they just didn't have the time to give me my painkiller every 3 hours and point blank refused to start my new BP tablets the GP had just prescribed instead of bisopralol. That GP had felt the black shapes were hallucinations from bisopralor. My BP during the stay was around 182/112. The doctor told me the scan was clear and I could go home but he wanted to find out if neurology would see me as an outpatient. He never came back so I was left bed blocking all day just waiting for him, still without BP Tablets or adequate pain relief and would have been kept there all night again just waiting for him to come back with news he could have faxed to my GP. I discharged myself. Just had a very long talk to MY OWN GP at last who has gone through every tablet and will sort it from here. One GP ended up stopping ALL my BP tablets without replacing them and had no idea that she'd done that until I told her. Even the senior nurses on the ward and the matron (Yes they do have matrons) agreed with my self discharge. My spine still needs investigation but hopefully the heart tablets and the horrific side effects should now be sorted.

And I thought my body was a wreck! I feel for you and hope you can get sorted soon.

Just praying the Candesartan aren't now giving problems. I'm light headed, breathless again and so weary but being new tablets it could wear off. BP is fine at last but heart rate is 120

Does your doctor know about your heart rate? It is supposed to be around 70.

Yes. He's expecting it to go between 85 and 120 until next week when it should settle down. He's blaming it on the stress of the angiogram, an MRI scan and a horrific hospital stay. Mine has NEVER been around 70. It did go down for a while but went back up. The cardio consultant also knows. It's looking like the Clopidogrel is causing the breathlessness and pain but can't prove it yet. I take the BP Tabs at a different time and once again the problems don't start until an hour after taking my morning meds ie aspirin, Clopidogrel, furosemide and Elantan. It's like it was on ticagrelor but not as bad.Either that or a combination of meds that just don't like each other. As before it wears off after about 6 hours.

Hmmm! I am on Clopidogrel. I might be getting the breathlessness but not the pain. I think I will see my doctor about knocking them off for a week or two and see what happens.

The consultant was adamant I need to take it or ticagrelor to prevent the stents from clogging up and for at least a year. Well we proved the TIcagrelor was causing much worse breathlessness and chest pain and clopidogrel was started a week last Friday. I felt fantastic the week before my angiogram when I was only taking a night time dose of ticag and for the first few days of clopi but the light headedness, , breathlessness and heart thumping started after about 5 days on it; around Wednesday alst week while i was in hospital. It's no pain like angina. It's more like t heart thumping so hard it hurts. I thought it was because they were giving me the wrong brand of oxynorm in hospital. There's only one brand I can tolerate but it's still happening now I'm home on my usual stuff. OMG I am so so sick of tablets making me ill. I'm fine without them. After I've taken them I'm struggling to do anything at all. They have changed my BP tablet and stopped bisopralol which was causing hallucinations but it can't be that as i take it at around 5pm and I'm just fine on an evening. It has to be one of the morning tablets unless it's just a combination that doesn't work.

Try the WFPB diet. What have you got to lose? If you need any help/advice about it, give me a shout.

I can't- husband refuses to even consider it and since my spinal problems leave me reliant on what he does it's just not an option

Sorry! You have mentioned before that your hubby is against it.

Try dropping hints (us blokes miss most of them), leaving relevant items around for him to see or watch relevant stuff on telly. Get the idea in his head. It will have to be his idea so don't push too hard.
