I have a 50/60% blocked LAD which was diagnosed last year after an angiogram. I have been taking Atorvastatin 40mg for just over a year now. I have recently started to get cramps in my legs. Also, muscle/joint aches, feel like I have been in a fight. At first I thought I had a virus but this is not going away. Any advice/feedback please.

As you have been taking Atorvastatin for over a year I doubt it is side effects. About seven years before I was diagnosed with CHD (coronary heart disease) I was diagnosed with PAD (peripheral arterial disease). This is caused by narrowing in the arteries away from the heart - usually the legs. My symptoms were, mainly on the left, tiredness and frequent cramps. The symptoms have reduced since my bypass suggesting a good pump helps moving things through the pipes. My LAD was 85% blocked. You should ask your GP for a Doppler test to check the circulation. From my experience just mentioned stenting of your LAD might help so query your GP at the same time.
Sadly the level of blockage may have increased or been underestimated (it is far from exact). Good luck at the GP's. Frequent cramping is both trying and tiring!
I am not a doctor but I recommend that you watch the film "Forks Over Knives". It is on Netflix and YouTube. It is about global medical heart research and application of the findings, including a massive study of 800,000 Chinese people. You might find it helpful, I did.
I used to have high blood pressure. My BP is now down to around 110/60 and my doctor has taken me off the statin and diuretic. In the film there is a bloke with 27 diseases. After 6 months he is down to 1.
Discuss with your GP. It may be the type of statin. I’ve had 3 and now I’m pain free. Good luck!
