Stem cell treatment for heart failure

Anyone had stem cell treatment for thier heart failure ? I have heard there are trials ? Any anyobe tried it and does it help ?

Some information on the web regards stem cells helping after Myocardial infarction but I think it’s some time off before this will be mainstream. Simple web search for stem cell and heart attack should bring up the information.

Trials were started last year and were halted before the expected time because they were so successful.

There was talk of offering the treatment to suitable patients for £10,000 which my consultant is looking into.

Just wondered if your consultant came back to you with any useful info?.

There does appear to be lots going on but it's difficult to find out about it.

A group of 4 London NHS hospitals has done a number of trials (80% success) however the establishment appears to deem the whole business still in the lab stage ???.

Hi drpc48 , No, nothing back. As a matter of fact I haven’t seen or heard from her since.

At the time when I posted here, I asked a senior cardiologist from the University of Utah, whom I know from a different context, and he was, as he put it, “underimpressed”.
