Happy birthday Pete have a great day 🍸🍰
Hi Michael
I will and I’m hoping to have loads and enjoy everyone of them as that’s the whole point of having the op
Thank you so much pal

Hi Pete!
Its Rugbymad (Martin)
Sorry I missed your birthday but Laptops not allowed in intensive care lol (ITU)
Well what a journey im 8 days post op Cabbage replaced along with AVR and a bypass.
Ended up in ITU for 6 nights not 1/2 as planned developed a severe lung infection so IV mass antibiotics and blood transfusions....seems I was a very poorly rabbit for a couple of days not that I knew anything about it lol
Back on the wards now with possible discharge tomorrow and as Im sure you were the same I cant F........G wait been 22 nights since I saw home and only came in for an Angiagram get less for grand larceny lol
Feeling good but friggin developed manflu overnight lucky Martin Heh
Met some incredible Staff here at Glenfield (1Tossa in ITU he should never be a Staff Nurse in intensive care and I got the bastard 2 nights running....lets not go there) and made some new friends 3 of which are planning to meet up again in the future !
Had some great laughs and the 4 of us piss takes with the staff then the op came and boy did it then get serious !!
Enough about me pal hope your continuing to improve as I now try to follow you once again into the outside world !!!!
Bestest regards
Martin x
Hi Martin
Been thinkin about you everyday pal and wondering how you got on it sounds like you’ve had a rough few days pal and the chest infection won’t have helped and now f.....g man flu . Look I’m not just saying this but from here on in it does get better and although it might be 2 steps forward and one step back it’s still in the right direction and eventually you can see the light at the end of the tunnel this week for me has been a mixture of lots of steps forward and a few steps back.
I will update my journey later tonight so I wont bore you with it now.
More importantly once you get home surrounded by your own things and your own bed it does then feel like the recuperation has started but remember very very small goals to start with and don’t be too dissapointed if you don’t always achieve them just keep trying till you do
I’m on hand to chat 24/7 if you need to as sometimes only someone whose been through it can understand where your head is as family and friends don’t always get it but for now get yourself home get settled in and try to plan what Martin wants to do not what people want Martin to do that’s quite important
Good luck my friend you know where I am if you need me
Pete x
