You should consult with your GP about this. They may refer you to a dietician.

Why have you asked the question? Have you suffered from DVT, are you worried because you have been reading Dr Goggle or...

I did look briefly into this because as a diabetic I am apparently at slightly greater risk of DVT. The dietary changes are really the same as for any cardiac patient; plenty of fresh fruit and veg (particularly leafy greens), limit red meat (cut off excess fat) and eat more fish and poultry, oily fish once or twice a week. One cause of DVT can be dehydration so keep yourself well hydrated but do limit sugar and caffeine intake. Combined with this maintain a heathy weight, exercise within ur capabilities and do not smoke. If you are relay concerned do as JimmyQ has suggested and he your GP who may refer you to a dietician. Beware of dieticians that advertise on the internet or the local paper. I have been to a couple of talks over the years where if you followed the advice given you could become deficient in certain areas - one advocated no dairy products but never mentioned the need for calcium in the diet.

yes.. my husband is a DVT patient. due to dvt he had heart attack last January, and stented. now taking medicines for heart problems. but now again his leg is swelling as before. his age is 32, he stoped smoking, he won't use alchohol, managing proper weight, doing exercise regularly, having balanced diet and also drinking more and more water.. he is feeling too much pain in his left leg now.. due to stenting he can't use warffrin tablets or injection.... don't know what to do....

This is a tricky one and really a question for his cardiologist. For the initiated a balance has to be achieved between the risk of excessive bleeding and the risk of stent thrombosis and other (blood) clot elated issues. Besides warfarin there are other anti-platelet drugs such as aspirin or clopidogrel,. Sometimes combination therapies are appropriate. As your husband's leg is swollen if you have not done so already you need to seek medical advice today!

Your husband must go to A& E, walk in centre or see a doctor asap. You can't take risks I was told. I had valve and artery replacement 8 months agofollowed by extended DVT 2 months later. I am on Apaxiban blood thinners one of the newer drugs. Please persuade him to get advice and checked out now !
