update after avr

hi every1 hope you are all well its been 12 weeks now since my avr and everything is going well apart from trouble with my blood pressure and warfrin which are both like yoyo s lol.starting back in the gym nxt week abit nervous about it but i think the time is right 2 try and move on with my life again.this clicking is still strange 2 get used 2 but its funny when you sit nxt 2 ppl and they are looking 2c where it comes from and im laughing 2 myswlf lol then i tell them its only me lol.right takecare every1 and chat soon

Hi meg, glad to hear everything is going so well. I had my AVR in November last year and have been back at work for two weeks now. Still get very breathless when walking up steps/stairs, but only outside, fine in the house and office. I think it’s the cold weather.

Thankfully my INR levels have been fairly steady and I haven’t had any problem getting used to the clicking. I did warn them at work that if it was quiet they might hear the clicking, but so far they haven’t - probably because we make too much noise 😜

Hope your exercise regime goes okay, but don’t overdo it.

evening wendy i think its defently the cold air as alot of ppl in my rehab are the same glad ur doing so well.does ur clicking very in noise sum days its wuite loud my misis has bad hearing and sum days she can hear it so it must be loud it dosent annoy me its wuite soothing knowing its working and it def speeds up whilst makeing love lol.

My Warfarin levels still yo yo all the time but have now got used to regular blood tests every couple of weeks - it’s now nine years since I had my AVR. AV click gets less as the years roll by.

Hiya. Good you hear you're doing well. 😊 I too am having trouble with the INR and still have weekly blood tests. I've been back at work 4 weeks now but only went full time yesterday.

It had a party for my 50th on. Saturday and was able to keep up with the young'uns, much to their dismay! 😂😂

hi claire glad 2 hear ur doing well like myself inr is a pain i go 2 times a week and its dropped to 1.9 so they had 2 give me a boast.if u had a drink on the weekend ur inr will be up.x

Do you home test or do you have to go to the clinic? Thankfully my clinic supports home testing as it would be a pain having to keep going to the clinic now I’m back at work, although I only have to test every two weeks at the moment. It’s a postcode lottery how much help you get from your GP, if any. My surgery doesn’t help at all so have to pay for everything myself, but some will prescribe the testing strips.

I never got invited to cardiac rehab, either this time or after my first op. Guess I’ll get enough exercise at work now.

the testing kits i was told are about 3 to 4hun quid so i go 2 the clinic its only a 10 min walk from me and the girls are fab.ill enquire tom about help with a home kit as im on it 4 life.the rehab programme is really helpfull chatting 2 others who know how ur feeling and it gives you confidence whilst doing light exercise strange how you aint been offered it have you asked about it.
