Hi guys after reading some of the comments on here is there any reason that I can't take my bisoprolol 5mg in the evening with the lipitor 40mg and just take the asprin and ramipril 5mg in the morning ...thinking it might help me sleep at night and feel less light headed in the morning .chemist not doctor recommended when yo take them.

Hi there, after my follow up to see Cardio nurse I explained I felt really tired all day so my bisopolol was moved to nightime along with my statin. I take my aspirin, ramipril, omeprazole and my blood thinner in the mornings. I sometimes feel a bit tired in the afternoon but try to avoid napping.

Not sure about bisoprolol, but try taking Lipitor in the morning and see if that helps with sleeping . There are many reports of Atorvastatin causing restlessness at night. You could talk to your GP about your bisoprolol dose to see if there is scope to reduce it - that might help with the dizziness.

Hi there.. .. I was told to take my ramipril at night time as it can cause dizziness. This may be the reason you are feeling light headed in the mornings. Might be worth a call to you GP to check this.

I'd definitely check with your GP, but probably you can tweak the timings to make this work better for you. I take my medications twice daily, but take a larger dose in the evenings than I do in the mornings. This was suggested by my heart failure nurse a couple of years back and it has helped a lot with light-headedness and tiredness for me. Good luck!

I take mine whenever I remember - which probably isn’t good(!) Water tablets like spironolactone and furosemide i take strategically - i.e. not before the cinema or when I’m driving, but bisoprolol whenever I remember. Not caused me any problems, but def check with your GP/doc first.

I know that Lipitor and atorvastatin are the same thing - I’ve been taking it for about 4 years and I take it in the morning with my GPs blessing

Sorry. I’ve worked in the pharmaceutical industry for over 40 years and forget that not everyone understands that the same drug can have different names. So, in this case Lipitor is the brand name and Atorvastatin is the generic name. Lipitor is/was marketed by Warner-Lambert whereas Atorvastatin is made by any number of manufacturers. Most people get prescribed the generic because it’s cheaper!
