Struggling after stents

Hi all

I am hoping people can reassure me what I'm feeling is normal as I am getting down about it and scared about the future. I am experiencing pressure pain in chest and throat since 4 stents fitted 6 weeks ago after heart attack. I have been to A and E about 10 days ago and all they did was test troponin and said I hadn't had another heart attack and that I was probably feeling anxiety. The thing is the pressure sometimes comes on at rest and sometimes on exertion but no clear pattern to it. The pressure is really uncomfortable and I get an ache in the throat but docs dont think pain is cardiac. Gtn spray just made my heart race and I felt terrible. I don't do well with the spray. Can anyone else identify with this? And if so do these symptoms tail off? After stents were placed they reported 0% blockages in arteries with only mild atheroma in RCA so angina shouldn't be an issue. I am doing everything right, diet exercise etc but I am feeling so worried it won't be enough to turn things around. Would love to hear your experiences with recovery.

Thanks

Give your body time to recover from HA and it could be anxiety I think we all suffer mentally after going through everything... But if you have any worries go and see your GP ... ♥️ Gillian

Hi I had 4 stents fitted on 15.09.17. following a heart attack whilst playing golf. I also suffered chest pain which was identified as being caused by CPR as I went into cardiac arrest 7 times during the operation. I also suffered with indigestion pain in the chest. Suggest that you speak with your GP or Rehab team.

I had 3 stents put in one artery and had chest pain and pressure for many months after the procedure. It take awhile for your body to recover from the trauma. Give yourself time and if you are worried, do see your GP. Do you have a cardiac rehab nurse yet? Ask to be referred to one. They will help ease your anxiety.

I had 5 stents inserted with the last one being on 13th October this year. I had similar pressure type pain but only in my central chest and it did go away after about 10 days.

I did have another issue though to do with a reaction to heart medications and my GP immediately called the Cardiac team and i was seen less than an hour later in the Cardiac dept. I didn't have to go via A&E or the AMU ward and was in and out (and all ok) in under 2 hours. I'm thinking that you should try and do this if you can - go straight to the experts!
