My psoriasis, I was told us stress induced, im fed up my lower legs have been a mess now for over two years, I have dovogel bit u need to stop using it after a month , it never clears up..... Help?

Hi did the Dr say what kind it is. I have a rare type erythdermic and a little pustulare. I have plague on my scalp. I've used cream of all kind. The only thing I can use to help is acitretin generic or soritane brand and it takes 2 months to start working. But it clears up really good. But I go off of it . That lasts 3-4 months and I'm breaking out again. It's all over me. So I'm back on it. It takes a long time to clear on legs. There are others that help. But I can't use them. No Sun or steroids they break me out. I know it's a pain if you need to talk I'm here. Love susie jo1948

I suggest the following protocol: Ask your dermatologist for a topical script for Triamcinolone Acetonide Cream USP .1% and/or Fluocinonide cream, USP .05% and alternate using those with the Dovonex. Perhaps one for a week and the other the next week. Or even every few days. Also, try combining these with a topical over the counter tar oil or cream when you get out of the shower. Also someone posted here about mixing an Indigo powder in with coconut oil (melt the coconut oil in a microwave for a short time and then mix in indigo powder to turn it a dark blue.) use this as a lotion on your calves. Like tar it can be a bit messy so I suggest using it in the morning and not before bed when it might stain sheets. We are all a bit different but this helps some people and I’ve noticed a benefit myself. Of course, Live a healthy and balanced lifestyle as best you can and limit sugar and alcohol. Also, this is going to sound a bit crazy but I learned this from a beautiful and wise woman many years ago and it can be very powerful: every morning do some stretching exercises and as you do them thank your body, or a part of your body,for all that it does for you. Thank your legs for carrying you and supporting you. Thank your eyes for the beautiful images they bring you. And thank your skin for protecting you. Forgive your skin and your immune system for working so very hard to fight the elements and reassure it that it’s ok and you will take good care of it. Above all else, be true to your self in how you live your life. Try and let go of any images you may be holding of how you are “supposed” to live. Sometimes our psoriasis can be like a “canary in the mine”...letting us know when something isn’t working out well and perhaps it’s time for a change. Of course change in and of itself is inherently stressful but we can only find our healthier and more fulfilled selves on the other side of that change. Best wishes!
