Could this be psoriasis?

Hi, I’ve been on anti virals for a blistering sore rash that my doctor said is shingles, but it’s getting worse and spreading over my body. I’m wondering if anyone could give me their opinion on whether this might be psoriasis. It’s so painful, it’s driving me crazy. 😕

When you say painful what do you mean?

Psoriasis is usually itchy and can become sore, bleed and crack if you scratch it.

Also it can take on many forms so it's difficult for a non medical person to diagnose.

Your best bet is to get referred to the local hospital dermatology department asap and get them to take a look at it if the anti-virals don't work.

If it helps, my doctor diagnosed the onset of my psoriasis as shingles too.

Hope you get some relief soon, sea salt baths and also Bepanthen cream are good soothing skin issues.

Thanks for the advice Clare. They have now decided it was shingles, which set off an allergic reaction (I’ve now got patches like this on elbows, feet, knees, and legs). My hand then got infected. After a week on antibiotics, antihistimes and oral steroids (which I’m to keep taking for the next month) it is finally improving. Thanks for the advice, I will try the salt bath.
