Laugh if you feel like laughing. Cry if you feel like crying. Sit down. Get up. Walk around in circles. Then sit down again. But most of all, remember to breathe.

I think we mourn each loss differently but it`s important to remember what our loved ones would want us to do and that`s to carry on as best we can.

That there is no cure for grief, its not a sign of weakness. Its something we need to accept and also the pain that goes with it.

I'm not sure. As I was running through a churchyard today (one I frequently go through), as I went from the old graveyard through to the newer part where tributes are frequent and fresh it suddenly struck me that we (those left behind) sort of hold onto the loved ones we lose by visiting and keeping graves. I know this might not sit well with some but maybe that's not right for everyone. It might be that part of acceptance is accepting that they are gone, their spirit remains with us, not in or around a grave, far more likely in their old homes or with us.

I don't know, it was only a half formed thought and may well be borne of the fact I have nowhere to visit mine, but then I'm not sure I'd feel the need. I speak to mine whenever and wherever the need comes to me 🤔

Either way, certainly no one should feel pressure to behave in any particular way, everyone will deal with their grief in their own ways and on their own paths.

Your loved one is still with you. Speak to them in your heart and mind. Carry them close with you.

To take their time and grieve at their own pace.
