Has anyone decided to take an evening class or some other activity to fill your time?

Hi chloe,

I have recently (three weeks ago) started attending a local Sketch Club held weekly at different cafes locally. It lasts for an hour and is an ideal length of time for me.

I find many adult education courses too long at 2+ hours.

That sounds brilliant and as you say, just the right amount of time and I agree, some are far too long. Great to have something lined up for Autumn/Winter.

Hi C40, didn't want to bend the truth but I started an evening class after mum died purely by accident. Not quite sure how it happened but I can't say if it was because of or despite mum passing.

I decided to take GCSE Engish to improve myself It was always a bit embarrassing when I write anything at work and of course it was free. Being an IT guy I'm always analysing and over-analysing things but with this evening class that was not possible so I went with the flow. And it was the most exciting thing I had done in a long time. We would study amongst the noise of the teenage invaders from the day classes, gossip about was she doing it right of missing things out.... so many questions and doubts, I can never make up my mind if that is right wrong, good or bad.

But in the end, after all my arguments and doubts I came through it with a 7. Although it took me two hours of surfing to realise that. But what to do next. After musing with a friend about ambition, I have been thinking of doing a City and Guilds in Education and Training as a way to do something new to follow on from my English. Just have to decide when....
